Subject: Request for Help
Dear Club Contact:
I would be grateful if you could forward the following request to your club members.
I have recently started up a model sailing club at The Denes High School, Lowestoft where I work. At present we have 12 WEE NIPS under construction and the students aged 11 to 15 yrs are very keen, so far having constructed the hulls they will shortly be progressing to making their own sails and fitting out their boats. The hope is to have all boats fitted with Radio Control and sail them regularly at a couple of nearby boating ponds, one just 2 miles from the school.
Already I am receiving requests from other students to join in the next intake which I have decided will be September purely on logistical grounds!
Whilst the school has generously made a donation to setting up costs to cover most of our material costs and generous discounts received from local model suppliers 'Pegasus Models -Norwich' we are looking to obtain any old RC equipment that is no longer wanted to help with this project. We have already received a generous donation of old 27/40M equipment donated by club members in
Coventry, as well as from my fellow club members at Broads RYC.
If you are unable to help at this time I would still like to thank you for taking the trouble to read this request and ask that you retain my details in case of being able to help in the future.
Thank You,
Alan Bright 1, St. Lawrence Close Beccles Suffolk NR34 9EW Tel: 01502 470782 e-mail:
ambright@btinternet.com
Whilst we are not in a financial position to purchase equipment, any donations of old servos TX and RX equipment will be put to good use and I can arrange collection or re-imburse postage.

30.10.11 Murrison Cup Report.
Murrison Cup
One metre model yacht racing
Harwich and Dovercourt Model
Boat Club (HDMBC) hosted the Murrison Cup on 30 October. 14 competitors took
part on a mild autumn day with a force 3 south westerly. Most of the fleet
chose no 2 rigs, and a few persevered with no 1 rigs. In general no 2 rigs
fared best.
Jon
Alexander dominated the racing, winning 10 out of 15 races. His speed and
pointing ability upwind kept him consistently at the front at the first mark
despite a congested start line as all fourteen boats raced together. Graham
Bartholomew won two races and Matthew Vincent, John Torrance and Vicky Mills
each won a race. Matthew Vincent and Vicky Mills were the only race winners
using no 1 rigs.
Race 6
produced a particularly good battle between Jon Alexander and Matthew Vincent.
Jon Alexander had better speed upwind, but the number one rig enabled Matthew
Vincent to shoot past on the downwind legs. At the finish, Jon Alexander just
got his bow in front by a few inches.
However, in the afternoon, the wind strengthened a little and the boats with bigger rigs struggled to maintain
control at times.

Dear all,
Our Constitution (6) states that a Special General Meeting may be called, it
does not mention an EGM. It may be unconstitutional to call an EGM so
hopefully for the last time:
This is to notify you that there will be a Special General Meeting of the
Harwich & Dovercourt Model Boat Club on the 9th November 2011 at 7.30 at the
White Horse public house Tattingstone.
Kind regards,
Jon

Please come along and have your say. It is your Club.
At the AGM we will be looking for nominations for all the Officers, as
